If you try to install Xcelsius 2008 with SYSPRO, you will run into the problem that Xcelsius 2008 wants Microsoft Office 2003 to be installed as well. Here is how to install Xcelsius 2008 with SYSPRO 6.1 and Office 2007 or 2010 successfully:
- Copy the SYSPRO 6.1 installation CD to your hard disk.
- On the hard-disk copy of your SYSPRO 6.1 CD, in the Xcelsius/package directory, you will find a file, Xcelsius.msi. Modify that file using Orca and remove the LaunchCondition for Office, as described in detail here. Note that the modified Xcelsius.msi file needs to remain in the Xcelsius/package directory, not some other directory.
- Re-launch the installation of Xcelsius from the SYSPRO installation program.
